Graham Hancock has always been under pressure and mockery from critics and scientist's. This is due to the challenging nature of his books, books which have really taken a lifetime's researching and a great deal of passion. For a long time, ancient history has been looked upon and flexible or sketchily mapped out, yet still somehow the theories, research and assumptions are taken as definite. When someone, and Hancock is definitely not on his own, challenges these ideas, there is bound to be upset; and upset there was. I believe that people are being need an open mind whilst taking in the evidence. No matter how much we can predict what it was like ...

Books in the genre of archaeology are rarely an easy read, their very nature requires concentration and often prior background knowledge of the particular subject. Heavens Mirror then is the answer to this, an easy to access book on alternative archaeology, with an easy to follow text and sumptuous photographs. The book was designed to go hand in hand with the Channel Four series and as such is presented in a way designed to appeal to the non-academic, a breath of fresh air. Those familiar with Hancock’s previous work will already have an understanding of the nature of this book. Hancock has spent years questioning some of the fundamental ideas of mans past. ...

Graham Hancock in producing this book left himself open to a lot of criticism, which he duly got. He was also unfairly treated by the BBC's Horizon programme who debunked hie sources as unprofessional and then used the same sources to debunk him in turn! Quest for the Lost Civilisation is however a good read. If you leave aside the very tenuous links to the Draco star constellation which Hancock very astutely attributes to his researcher Johm Grigsby, and thus absolves himself of responsibility, and the equally tenuous claims linking the chalk images in the south of England with the constellation of Taurus, then the book gives a lot of historically correct info ...
