This graphic novel contains the first ever Hellboy story, which starts with Hellboy's origins and is the basis for the first movie. Even though this graphic novel only contains a collection of four comics and runs to 128 pages with extras it is still a great book and well worth buying, especially for the extra short stories at the end. This story at the start of the book is more or less has the same origins in the film. An American Paranormal Bureau in 1944 stop the Nazi's and Rasputin opening a portal, however in the process Hellboy as a baby has slipped through.
