I have got all of his series of books and have always been intreged with the SAS. This book out of all of them stood out the most though. The story is a little far fetched but is great reading, the knowledge and information he provides from his own experiences is that of pure quality and allows you to get right into the nity grity of the story. The descriptive manner in which he writes gives you a great impression of what the SAS gives to an individual of his calibre. Top Notch Thought Provoking Action. Best book of the year. - Advantages: Indepth characterisation, Realistically portrayed action, Well detailed but not patronising. - Disadvantages: Conclusion too quick

Well, this was my major holiday read this year in Greece and it didn't disapoint. It was so good I had to force myself away from it on the plane journey there so I didn't finish my first book before arrival! If you've never heard of or read on of Chris Ryan's books before you're missing out. Chris Ryan was an SAS soldier, most famous for being one of the soldiers to escape Iraq during operation Desert Storm as part of the doomed Bravo Two Zero patrol. He's also written several books including his account of the patrol (The One That Got Away), and several action/thrillers.
