Advantages: Discworld at it's best

Disadvantages: some bits are quite wierd, even for Pratchett

There's an evil plot.. and it involves the hogfather, Discworld's version of Santa Claus.

The Auditors are out to get him, and have put a bounty on his head, for any assassin who can kill him, and fortunately the assasin's guild have just the man.. Mr TeaTime (pronounced Teee-aah-Timer), who's mad even for the assassin's guild.

This means that all the kiddies won't get their presents, so DEATH fills in, but this means that his grand daughter, Susan Sto Helit (daughter of Mort!) is pulled back into the family business! To aid her, she has the Death of rats, and an eyeball obsessed Raven. Together they try to sort out what is going on, and in hte meantime, all sorts of wierd creatures turn up in the world, especially around Unseen University, due it's high magical flux. These include a Veruca gnome, amongst other wierd things.

A great Terry Pratchett novel, with some excellently funny moments, if a little bit insane in places!
