The Triumph of Katie Byrne - Barbara Taylor Bradford
by kaitlinsmummy - written on 12/03/08 (Very useful, 29 readings)
Rating:
present for my nan, it was on special offer at asda costing just £1.00. On getting it home and on further inspection, I noticed it was by Barbara Taylor Bradford, I have read some of her books in the past and have absolutely loved them so decided to keep it for myself. The general jist of the story is this - The book is centred around the character of Katie Byrne. It starts off when she is seventeen years old, her and her best friends Denise and Carly are avid amateur actors and talk of nothing but how, once they leave school, they are all going onto an acting college in New York. Heirs of Ravenscar - Barbara Taylor Bradford
by kaitlinsmummy - written on 04/02/09 (Very useful, 78 readings)
Rating:
from the fact it was being sold for £1.00 at Asda, god bless Asda, was the fact that it was written by one of my favourite authors, this being Barbara Taylor Bradford. The book is in three parts, with each part covering a life of a Deveranal. The Devearanals are a big and very wealthy family. Head of the family is the very dashing Edward. An entrepreneur of the early 20 s, Edward had made his fortune investing in oil. Edward had everything he could possibly desire, a ...

Rating:
to be restricted to dropping six books on the counter and picking up the first six from the returned books trolley. One of these was "Emma s Secret" by Barbara Taylor Bradford. It s number four in her Emma Harte series, of which "A Woman of Substance" is the first, best and most famous. On her death bed Evan s grandmother tells her to find Emma Harte as she has the key to her future. Evan goes to London only to discover that Emma has been dead for thirty years, but as she s come all the way from New York she decides she might as well take a job at the Harte department store. Everyone she meets comments on her physical likeness to the Harte family. ...
