Hunting down a new book to read for the holidays is a pain if you are a fussy reader and “Holidays On Ice” seemed to fit the bill perfectly. An anthology of six short stories about Christmas in the US, “Holidays On Ice” is exceedingly funny, witty and original. The first story is the “SantaLand Diaries” covering Sedaris’ real-life experience working as an elf at Macys where 22,000 people come to visit Santa during the holiday season. As you can imagine, there is mayhem galore, especially with the customers who come in all shades, like the kid who was told to wee on the snow display or the 40-yr-old fairy woman.
