I had always wanted to create a simple network between me and my two friend that live either side of me so that we could play fast multiplayer games such as Quake or Unreal but I hadn't the knowledge of how and what equipment I needed. That was until I was reconmended this book which simplifies everything and presents it in a nutshell so that it is easy to digest. There are simple diagrams that show you how a network operates and how to set one up from scratch. There are reconmendations on what hardware to use when building your network.
