Horrible Histories are a series of cartoon illustrated books for children providing information and stories from a variety of historic periods with titles such as 'Vile Victorians' and 'Vicious Vikings'. These stories are told mainly through a series of comic strips, illustrated timelines and blocks of interestingly illustrated text. The 'wicked world' of Horrible History aim to provide 'history with the nasty bits left in'.
