It covers what life was like during the war for the people who didn't go away to fight especially, and indeed there are a lot of gory and interesting facts covered! Although there are a lot of funny facts and witty lines, it is not all words. There are pictures and little comic strips inside. History has always been a favourite subject of mine - there is so much ground to be covered and with each new topic it becomes more impossibly fantastic! That is the reason why I love Terry Deary's collection of Horrible Histories books. One of the titles is the Blitzed Brits. The first thing we notice with books is naturally the cover. It is quite a bright coloured cover considering it covers such a dark topic. There is a family on the front and they are all scarily dressed in gas masks.
