 ... Celts there's enough info in there to educate you. It's told in a fun way with the author poking fun at teachers and parents, there's loads of jokey parts of the book but even they are written with plenty of facts in with the jokes. A good part I enjoyed was a diary by Guinevere where she told the King Arthur And The Round Table from a woman's bored point of view, and according to her the table wasn't even round anyway! lol There's a mad couple of pages with recipes for the sort of stuff Celts would eat and I my...more

My sisters got loads of these Horrible Histories books and last night when I was bored I read The Cut Throat Celts because I couldn't be bothered to go upstairs for my own book! I thought it was an interesting book and educational because it told me all about the Celts but in a fun way. It's a history book for kids and tells you about the bloody side of being a Celt, stuff like how sacrifices were done and the things saints went through to become martyrs. I thought it was a fun read and even though they don't go into the history in major depth for someone who doesn't know much about the Celts there's enough info in there to educate you. The series of books known as Horrible Histories is a collection of superb books by author Terry Deary. I love reading these, and one of the titles in the collection is The Cut Throat Celts. Cover: You should never judge a book by a cover, but let's face it, most of us do! This particular book has a very dashing green cover. You can see pictured three rather threatening men dressed in white cloaks, with a knife pointing it towards a topless, defenseless soul. It looks quite gruesome and scary, I couldnt wait to read!
