One of my fvourite things to study in History is the two World Wars. Terry Deary caters for both of these within the book series, Horrible Histories, and one of these books is The Frightful First World War. The cover of the book attracts me instantly. There is a picture of a soldier sitting deep in thought writing a letter, with a mess of fighting and barbed wire behind him. It looks very scary and highlights straight away what sort of adventure we are in to before we even open the book...
