Horrible Histories is a collection of books written by the wonderful author known as Terry Deary. In this collection there are many books and one of these is the Gorgeous Georgians.

Cover:
I know they say you should never judge a book by its cover, but lets face it, most of us do it! This cover is certainy very attractive. It has a main colour of a red, a divine shade, with a picture of royalty. There is a horseman too, which I recognised. It all looked exciting!

'Plot':
The book covers the time period owned by the Georgians. It was not a topic I knew a lot about, so I was keen to read. By the end I found out plenty of interesting facts, like who they actually were, and discovered some key dates in their history. Not only is there plenty of witty and humerous facts, but diagrams and images too. This helps understanding it easier as people tend to remember pictures better than words.

Suitability:
The Horrible Histories books are perfectly aimed at children in the age 9 to 12 bracket. I do think this is ideal, as the writing is a good size for one thing. The language is not too challenging to understand and despite the odd jargon it is easy to follow. The images make it more exciteful for them too! Though it is great for anybody older too who is just turning to the topic for the first time. It is a great way to get on the first tepping stone to learning all about the Georgians!

Price:
You can buy this book for just 1p from Amazon.co.uk. Even with the £2.75 postage and packaging costs it is still a wonderful price. It's a real bargain from the £4.99 RRp price, especially when it is often bought brand new!

This is an education and entertaining book and is definitely well worth the money and the read!
