Advantages: good light reading on moneysaving in general

Disadvantages: only covers things in general more details would have been nice

How I Lived a Year on Just a Pound a Day, by Kath Kelly.

I had heard and seen thhis book on various tv programmes and on general searches for thrifty/frugal living on Amazon, and caved in and bought it.

I love money saving and i am allways looking for ideas for cutting costs etc, so i can save for my dream home, so i thought this book would be great purely to try and save money on basic living costs, and give me the incentive and drive to keep going on my quest to money save.

As soon as i recieved the package from Amazon i put the kettle on and started reading the 184 page paperback book, which is published by redcliffe press ltd.

The book is sort of set out ina month by month diary, and sorts of gives you a light read into her £1 a day spend quest.

Yes i am injoying the book as a light read into a topic that interests me alot, e.g. saving money, and trying to make my money go further, and also beat the system, but i am also disappointed at the same time.

Kath doesnt really go into any depth in how she spend her £1 a day, just sort of flits over this, and just gives you general ideas on what to do, and where to go.

I would have loved this book to give some sort of daily/monthly expenditure daiary too, with what she actually bought, and what she made and done with her purchases.

So my verdict on this book, yes its a good read, and a good incentive, and thought provoking book, to keep you forcused on different ways of saving the pennies in our day to day living/spending, but i would strongly reccomend you take a leaf out of this book and go to the libary for the book and save yourself some money

Summary: good read, but get the book from the libary

It's an interesting idea but not possible for many I think!

I've read a bit about her on the web, but I don't think I could cope with a whole book of the woman!
