Nick Hornby gives us another quick fun book. (How to be good - Nick Hornby)

Advantages: Easy reading Disadvantages: Characters were quite unlikeable I picked up "How to be good" very recently and couldn't put it down. It is definitely a good book to pick up on a day off and get the kettle on and simply keep reading until you're finished. It is the story of a Doctor called Kate, who has an affair after her husband changes from being "The Angriest Man in Holloway" - a persona he has for a column he writes in a local paper - to becoming good with the help of a spiritual healer. The healer moves in and everything explodes out exponentially from there. The story concentrates on Kate's husband changing his life, Kate and her lover and the wackiness that ensues from the lifestyle change. There is also a small cameo from a character from High Fidelity. Not Nick Hornby's best book by a long shot but an entertaining way to while away a day, preferably with no interruptions whatsoever. Summary: A quick read |
