Mouthwatering! (How to Eat - Nigella Lawson)
Member Name: dcmbarton
Advantages: Great selection and simple to follow Disadvantages: No photographs I have owned this book for a number of years and have found it useful in every way. The recipes are clearly laid out and the ingredients not too obscure. Nigella introduces each recipe, but most importantly for me, she also offers alternative ingredients, where, for example a particular cut of meat is not available. I have particularly enjoyed the 'Chocolate and Raspberry Pudding Cake' which has been a hit on many occasions. If I had to make a criticism, it is the lack of photographs; in fact, there aren't any at all so it is sometimes hard to imagine what some of the dishes look like. Also, all the recipes are in metric and some of the amounts requuired are very small (e.g. 5g) so you need accurate measuring scales. The book is laid out into sections, though I find these rather haphazard. Great recipes, though not the best presented cookery book I own. Summary: Still worth it! |
