NIGELLA! NIGELLA! I love you! (How to Eat - Nigella Lawson)
Member Name: discoboy
Advantages: Clear, friendly and usable. Disadvantages: Once used, this becomes unputdownable!
If it's not one brilliant recipe with this woman, it's another. This first collection of her work has been on the shelves for a number of years now, but has become a really big seller on the back of her excellent TV series. The book succeeds in exactly the same way as the programme- through simplicity. These are real recipes for real people which are practical and extremely usable. However the book is not presented as a 'no-frills cookbook' and doesn't feel like a cookery 'starter course' for idiots, hence you are never spoken down to. You find yourself encouraged to experiment and play about in the kitchen. This book never pretends to be the final word or some kind of cookery bible- and in taking this approach, Nigella has created a book which is now utterly indispensable in my kitchen. Buy it- you won't look back. Summary: |
