The full title of this handy little book is "How to Feed Your Whole Family a Healthy Balanced Diet, with Very Little Money and Hardly Any Time, Even If You Have a Tiny Kitchen, Only Three Saucepans (one with an illfitting lid) and no fancy gadgets ... - Unless You Count the Garlic Crusher..." I was on Amazon looking for a cookery book for No. 2 son who as I've mentioned is into cooking at the moment and this little book came up, I looked it up online and discovered it has been racing up the Amazon best seller list since its release. It is 260 pages of simple wholesome, nutritious family recipes aimed at those trying to cut down on their ...  Read the complete review

'How to feed your whole family a healthy, balanced diet with very little money... and hardly any time, even if you have a tiny kitchen, only three saucepans (one with an ill-fitting lid) and no fancy gadgets - unless you count the garlic crusher...' There's nothing like a snappy title to attract you to a new book is there and this certainly isn't! So, with a title that takes as long to write as it does to review, what on earth tempted me to part with my cash for this one? Having read two positive reviews of this book, the clinching factor was logging on to my Amazon account only to have this staring me in the face as a recommended purchase. This book was set to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review How to Feed Your Whole Family... - Gill Holcombe: An Uninspiring Cookbook (1273 words)

I have found myself in a bit of a rut when it comes to cooking meals for my family; I tend to cook and eat the same meals over and over again leaving me feeling bored. I needed some new recipe ideas and after reading some rave reviews for the book "How To Feed Your Whole Family A Healthy Balanced Diet" I decided to invest in it. As a nation us Brits cook less than we have ever done despite the fact we have a greater choice of raw ingredients at our disposal than ever before blaming lack of time or the fact that cooking a home cooked meal is more expensive than buying a frozen ready meal. The author is trying to prove to the average mum that home ...  Read the complete review

....or "How to feed your whole family a healthy balanced diet with very little money.... and hardly any time, even if you havy a tiny kitchen, only three saucepans (one with a ill-fitting lid) and no fancy gadgets - unless you count the carlic crusher" to give it is full title. I bought this book after it was recommended in The Thrift Book by India Knight (see my review on it.) The two books share a lot of the same ethos - the drive towards simplicity and health without spending a fortune. Holcombe herself is a single parent herself so a lot of the recipes and ideas come from personal experience and striving to cook economical and healthy meals ...  Read the complete review

How To Feed Your Whole Family A Healthy, Balanced Diet With Very Little Money...and hardly any time, even if you have a tiny kitchen, only three saucepans (one with an ill fitting lid) and no fancy gadgets - unless you count the garlic crusher... Simple, Whole And Nutritious Recipes For Family Meals. Phew! Try saying that after a couple of Vino's! Indeed, it was the title that first caught my eye as I was browsing the best-selling book list on Amazon recently. Falling into at least three of those categories myself I was intrigued enough to hand over £5.99 for this ...  Read the complete review
