Advantages: witty humour

Disadvantages: lack of depth and personality

So unfortunately this book is not full of tips on how to kill your husband or nor is there tips to remove the lime scale of your taps, but it is a witty chick lit novel.

The author Kathy Lette is an Australian author who resides in the UK. She was a singer with a band called the salami sisters, before becoming a columnist in Sydney and New York and a television sitcom writer in Los Angeles.
Her other books include to love, honor and betray{till divorce us do part}, dead sexy, nip 'n' tuck, puberty blues, altar ego, foetal attraction, girl's night out, mad cows and the llama parlor.

The book follows three forty something London residing friends Jazz, Cassie and Hannah and their cheating husbands. The book starts with Jazz being imprisoned for her wealthy plastic surgeon husband David's murder. Her best friend Cassie has to now write the events leading up to the murder for Jazz's solicitor, and here we see the lives of the other woman and their relationships, but the question is did Jazz kill her husband, she sure did make a lot of threats about it.

Cassie - Cassie is married to vet Rory with two kids, she doesn't speak her mind but is the wittiest of the three women. She is in as she believes a loving but sexually bored relationship, she finally comes clean with her husband that the sexual part of the relationship is dead and they go to a sexual therapist. What she thinks is the fresh start turns out to be the final nail in the coffin when her husband has an affair with the several times divorced therapist. Can she get her husband back or will she lose him as well as the looming promotion as deputy head at her school.

Jazz - Jazz is married to rich powerful plastic surgeon and now after supporting her husband emotionally and financially while he did his medical training, is now a stay at home mum to her only child Joshua. After an anniversary dinner what turned into a dinner party for her husband contacts she finds Viagra, but it can't be for her as they haven't had sex in over a year. So while pretending to be on holiday she and Cassie follow David and find out her his not only having one but several affairs.

Hannah - is a wealthy woman due to the success of her art career. After being holier than thou about her friends relationships, she finds out her jobless husband Pascal is having an affair and putting the women up in the art studio she brought him, not only that but having refused to have children with Hannah, she also finds out he is the father of the 'other' women's child.

The book is full of witty one liner's including a few of my favorites -
* Worship your husband, adore your husband, but get everything you can in your name.
* To love, hover and obey...
* The reason I don't tell you when I'm having a orgasm is because your never there
* Where there's a will, I want to be in it.
* Your shoes are so far back of the closet there gay.

Though I did enjoy the book, the best thing about it was the witty lines and not much the plot. I think the plot itself was lacking a little depth and none of the characters where particularly relatable except Cassie, only because she seemed to have the most normal life and reactions, this is where I think it went wrong for me the books and films I love have characters I really love or hate, but the women of this book don't seem to have much personality when you get pass the events of the plot, their life styles and one liners and for some reason some of the characteristics of the women seemed to be more American than British. I would recommend for a light hearted summer read but I think for me it will be forgotten at the back of the book shelf for sometime to come.

Summary: summer one time read
