This book was brought for my sister, but since then, it's spent most of it's time on my bookshelf because she doesn't find it interesting. It declares itself to be "The Girls Guide to Everything", and well and truely lives up to this declaration! It's a light hearted and informative book that I have not been able to put down (everytime I read it!). The dedication inside the book states "for aspiring Cinderellas everywhere". Camilla Morton is my absolute idol. She is a fantastic author and also has a highly successful career in the fashion industry. This book is her first of two "how-to" guides for women. We are guided through a number of witty, fast faced instructions/suggestions about how to go about every day situations. Not only can you learn how to get ready in 5 minutes...you can also brush up on your bed-side manner, overcome technophobia, and become an excellent dinner party hostess! If my ex was anything to go by, men like to fill the bookshelves with DIY books and books of humorous sporting quips, most of which sit unused and gathering dust. Finally, Camilla Morton has spotted a niche in the market and written How to Walk in High Heels, a girls DIY bible to anything and everything girly related. But unlike your partner's Reader's Digest DIY annuals, this is a book that need not sit unread and unloved as it provides a wealth of information for the modern, Manolo Blahnik wearing (or desiring) girl about town. I have to admit that when I initially read this book I wasn't quite sure whether to take it seriously or not. The idea of gliding up and down the isles in Tesco to break in my new pair of heals, as suggested in the book, might seem like a great idea... at least until the walk home with heavy back in each hand! But take suggestions like this with a pinch of salt, apply a little commonsense and this book actually offers some pretty good advice. The first couple of sections are very "Sex And The City". I loved the idea of this book. A simple no nonsense down to business book written by a girl to teach girls how to do everything. As I had loved an eHow book on just about how to do everything I thought "How to walk in high heels" would be equally loved. I was wrong. So this book is separated into sections such as career, house etc. Then through out the sections there are short descriptions and useful hints of how to ......
