'Let's Go Home, Little Bear' is a wonderful picture story book to share with young children. It is part of the 'Little Bear' series written by Martin Waddell and beautifully illustrated by Barbara Firth. This is the third book which we have read and my daughter loves the fact that she is meeting the same characters in all the books. There is now a certain familiarity so she feels she is reading about old friends! All the books seem to start in the same way by introducing the two bears who are the main characters. It says: 'Once there were two bears, Big Bear and Little Bear. Big bear is the big bear and Little Bear is the little bear. Now you ...

Rover is written by Michael Rosen and beautifully illustrated by Neal Layton. The book was published in 1999 by Bloomsbury publishing. I m probably no the first person to look at the front cover and title and assume this story is about a dog called Rover. It s not! After reading this rather wonderful yet unusual book to my son last night, I had to review it. The book I will now review is "Rover" by Michael Rosen and Neal Layton. The front cover of this book is simply a picture of a young girl and her dog on the beach, there is a beautiful blue sky behind her and there are many people playing, sunbathing, paddling and flying kites in the background, ok nothing too extraordinary so far! It isn t until you read the first line of the book that you realise the clever part...... "This is my pet human. Humans come in all sizes: she s the kind who is a bit bigger than me. I named her Rover" From that moment until ...
