Susy McPhee is a new author that I hadn't heard of before borrowing this book from my auntie. I was originally sceptical of Husbands and Lies - judging by the cover (a cardinal sin, I know), it looked like it was going to be one of those Mills and Boon style love stories. However, I do enjoy reading almost anything and the fact that it came with a recommendation made me turn to the first page. I have to say, I'm pretty glad I did. Fran is a successful business woman, with a doting husband and a lovely child and a best friend who is like a surrogate sister to her. Being a real bookworm, I'm always on the lookout for something new to read, particular from new authors that I haven't read before. Browsing in Borders one afternoon brought this book by new author Susy McPhee to my attention, and after really liking the sound of it, I logged onto the online library catalogue and quickly reserved my copy. When I got it home, I was eager to start it straight away so I did, and I couldn't put it down. The result is that just over 24 hours after starting it, its finished and I am eagerly awaiting her new release in the autumn!
