I forgot to say I love you is a book lent to my son from a friend's seven year old who sorted out some books that he loved at my son's age who is two and a half. So I already knew that this would be a good book but whether it caught my sons imagination was another matter that only reading to him would conclude. The book itself is a large paperback and is great quality paper but non glossy so is not wipe able. It is 32 pages long There are three main characters, Billy, his mother and his toy Rabbit. Billy and his mother are bears and his rabbit is a tired looking well loved toy. The story The story is familiar to many parents ... Read the complete review

This is one of my favourite children's books. The story is very simple but is beautifully written and illustrated. I think this book is popular with children as well as adults because of the fact that the story is universal and recognisable to all. The book tells the story of Billy and his Mum. Billy gets later and later for nursery as he is distracted by playing with his toy rabbit, rather than getting ready to leave. His Mum gets increasingly annoyed with him and when he drops his lunchbox in the rain and it bursts open, his Mum takes Rabbit off him, drops him off at nursery and hurries off to work. Billy is sad because his Mum didn't say "I love you" ... Read the complete review

You can tell just by looking at the cover of this book, where you see a mummy bear and her little boy having a BIG cuddle, that this is going to be a lovely warm story! And it is! 'I forgot to say I love you' really is a good book for sharing with little children! Many parents of young children will probably recognise a lot of the things that happen in this story! At the beginning the little bear called Billy is very slow at doing all the things he has to do in the morning such as getting dressed and eating his breakfast! This has not actually got anything to do with Billy though because it's his small toy rabbit who is causing all the delays - Rabbit won't ... Read the complete review

I was on bedtime duty tonight as my daughter had some work experience to deal with at the hospital and the wife was off doing her avon bits. I don't normally go for soppy bedtime stories but my four year old grandson insisted this was the one he wanted me to read tonight as I tucked him up in bed. This book looks like it's going to be all soft and soppy considering the title but I was pleasantly surprised to find it is actually a really nice story. It's very realistic the way the story develops with Mum getting cross and hurrying Billy along to nursery. We've all had days like that! When Billy gets to nursery, he starts crying when he realises that ... Read the complete review
