Advantages: Great for escaping everyday life, easy to read.
Disadvantages: Farfetched plot
I bought this book quite a while ago and it remains one of my favourite, feel good chic-lit novels. I have never read any books by Lindsey Kelk, but hope to read the two next books in the series.
It is the story of a woman, Angela, who finds her boyfriend/fiancee has been cheating on her at her best friends wedding. She makes the irrational decision to move to New York, where she meets a new best friend and, later on, two guys. She has to choose between them- one who is her ideal man and another who she would never normally go for, but can't help being attracted too.
The plot itself was very farfetched and very unrealistic, but I enjoyed this. I liked being swept away in a story that would more than likely not happen in real life.
I liked the main character, and was surprised to find that I didn't get bored of her. Often in this type of book I start to get almost jealous of the characters and therefore sick of them, but I really did enjoy reading about her time in the Big Apple.
This book is fantastic for escaping the dreariness of real life. I have always wanted to go to New York and reading about it really fascinates me. This book is very easy to follow and generally a great holiday, feel good read.
Summary: Overall, a great poolside chic-lit novel.
