I had never seen I Love You Sleepyhead until it was brought by a family member for my daughter last christmas. The book is lovingly written by Claire Freedman and beautifully illustrated by Simon Mendez, with both of their efforts combined I suspect they managed to achieve everything that they set out to. The book is quite large (27 x 27 cm) and has a lovely cover of a baby penguin looking up at his mummy and her looking down at him under the stars, with snowy mountains in the distance.
