Good on you Will! (I, Robot - Isaac Asimov)

Advantages: Fast Moving, Funny, Good storyline

Disadvantages: Unbelievable at times (that end bit), Acting on the smaller roles could be better

I wasn't to sure about this film, but decided to give it a go as it was the only dvd in our collection that I hadn't watched...I have to say I was quite impressed!

The story is set 30 years into the future when robots play a key role in everyday life, soon there will be one robot in every home which most people think is great, but not Will Smith of course, for some reason (i still dont understand what) he really dislikes robots and thinks that there are capable of evil things as are humans.
So surprise Surprise it turns out that he was right and that some mad old scientist guy had invented an evil robot design before he died ( a robot not implanted with the 3 laws that all robots have to abide by). An example of a law is that No robot can hurt a human being, even if it has been instructed to do so.

Anyway so evil robots are being made by copying this design and alas Will Smith has to save the world with just a conveniently good looking lady scientist and a nice robot! Now I know the storyline (especially when described by me) must sound a little ropey, but trust me the way the film is made makes the story believable, well at the beginning!!! I mean technically if technology keeps advancing at the rate it has been then this COULD happen!

The acting in the film is good on the parts of Smith and his lady friend, but from everyone else is pretty mediocre, but that doesn't matter to much because Smith really is the star of this film and dominates the screen time.

I really liked the special effects in this film, not just the robots, but also the action scenes and set design. Although there is one bit right at the end (i wont let to much away) where i feel that Will possibly would of come out a little more injured than he did...watch it and you'll know what I mean!

I think that both girls and guys can watch this film, as it is actually quite funny as well as being an action film, oh and theres this bit with a cat thats just soooo cute! Oh and one last thing, Will's car in the film is drop dead gorgeous audi thing and it is TO DIE FOR!!!! Definitely reccommended viewing!
