She looks for things to sell but decides she needs everything she owns so she goes round the palace looking for other objects which no one seem to use. These include a jack in the box, a cook's colander, some plant pots and a train set. 'I want a shop!' is one of the books in the wonderful Little Princess series written and illustrated by Tony Ross. The story was also shown on television as there is a TV series of The Little Princess on Channel 5. Both my daughters really love Little Princess stories, so my youngest was delighted when she recieved some of the books for her third birthday. The good thing about all the books and the programmes is that you meet the same set of madcap characters in all of them. These include a toy loving king, a knitting loving queen, a crazy general who rides a wooden horse and an eccentric admiral!
