 ... Crosley! This book was perfect for dipping in and out of. Something you could keep on you bedside table to read when you're in-between books, or to pop in your beach bag during your summer jollies. Personally, as great as I think the essays are, this isn't the type of book I could read cover to cover. I'd need a little break inbetween essays as when I read 2 in a row I felt a little bored! I bought this book only because of the cover and funny title. I wanted something that was an easy read for the summer and I figured a book of essays with a quirky title would be the ticket. 'I Was Told There'd be Cake' is a book of 15 essays written by New York City Girl, Sloane Crosley. Reading other reviews on this book people compare her to David Sedaris, if I'm honest I don't have the foggiest who that is.
