The Ice House is Minette Walters' first novel, published in 1992. The thriller writer hit the bookshelves with a bang with this novel, which has since been adapted into a TV drama. The Plot When a body is found rotting in the grounds of Streech Grange, the three ladies living there are immediately under suspicion, and the police are wondering if they have found the body of David Maybury, who went missing years previously. Inspector Walsh is dispatched to investigate, and is obsessed with closing the crime and finding out what really happened. This is the first Novel by Minette Walters first published in 1992. Like a lot of her works this book has been televised, the others were The Sculptress and the The Scold's Bridle. Minette Walters concentrates on the crime/mystery type of books which I don't normally read and I actually quite enjoyed this book. I only read it because it was chosen in this yahoo groups book club I belong to, the others didn't think much of this book and most predicted part of the ending, I won't say which bit.
