Geri Halliwell, or Ginger Spice as some may know her, is an intriging character, and even more so when she had recently just left the spice girls. I purchased this book as I love autobiographies of famous, fiesty and interesting people and Geri really fits the bill. Although she had done plenty of interviews and publicity appearances no one was ever sure what the real Geri Halliwell was like, and this was the first opportunity to find out.

The book starts with detailing her early life (as all autobiographies do) and tells of a very poor upbringing in Watford, being looked after by her lovely Spanish mother. The book then goes on to detail her huge desire to become famous, in whatever way she could. She was a host on a Turkish gameshow, posed for topless pictures and went to hundreds of auditions before she became famous with the spice girls.

Geri battled both anorexia and bulemia, and the book shows a very insecure side to the outgoing famous pop star we all know. It covers her life in the spice girls and her huge image change afterwards to a yoga loving breast cancer awareness campaigner.

This a frank and detailedaccount of the behind the scenes life of Geri Halliwell, worth a read for any fan.

Summary: Well worth a read.
