Advantages: Lots of twists and turns

Disadvantages: Not easily forgotten

This book is third in the Dollanganger/Flowers in the Attic Series and is told from the viewpoint of the children of Cathy and Christopher, Jory and Bart. Cathy and Christopher have moved far away from their house of horrors - Foxworth Hall and have built themselves a new life on the foundations of their devastating past.

Still hiding their own secret about their lives, they live in fear of discovery and when a mysterious old woman moves in next door, and starts playing with the mind of troubled young Bart, their new lives are shattered once more.

This is a fitting sequel, and it shows how the past can never be left behind, no matter how hard you try. Cathy cannot let go of her desire for revenge, not that we can blame her, and Corrine's selfish and despicable behaviour continues to haunt their lives.

This book is gothic horror at its best, and we both hate that the Dollanganger children can't find peace, and love that twists and turns keep coming. We feel all the sorrow and fear of discovery as the brother and sister try to live their lives together, and the ghosts that haunt Cathy so much that she relives them daily.

This is a saga we don't want to end, and one that once read, can never be forgotten.

Summary: A excellent read that will say with you for many years
