This book just tops them all. Andy McNabs IMMEDIATE ACTION is probably the best he has wrote, yes that is right, even topping his best seller BRAVO TWO ZERO. Although only just. I believe he has only ever written three non fictional books (Including his knew book SEVEN TROOP), and to have a non fiction as my top, all time favorite book, requires great skill as an author; trust me, i do like my fictional books! The story is about the life of Andy McNab from the day he was found in a Harrod's carrier bag on the steps of Guy's Hospital to the day he went to fight in the Gulf War. I've been interested in the army ever since I was young. I've been reading books on the British army, royal marines, special forces etc. for a long time now, and this is one of my favourite books of all time. It costs about £8 and is also avaliable as an audiobook. Andy McNab is a Special Air Service (SAS) legend who commanded the famous bravo 2 zero mission during the first gulf war. He has written several non-fiction books (including immediate action), and several fictional books. In my opinion the non fictional books are far better and more interesting than the fictional books. Firstly, I am a long standing fan of the Andy McNab books, starting with Bravo Two Zero right through to his latest fiction novels. Immediate Action is, however, non-fiction and this is why I feel it is his best work. McNab gives a detailed, graphic and emotive insight into his difficult upbringing and subsequent journey through his adult life. He does so in a way that makes you warm to him and also allows you to glimpse how life is when you are in the British Special Forces.
