Interestingly enigmatic and manipulative central character, some background locations and circumstances with genuine novelty value, a fast and exciting concluding section. The novel fails to cohere as a wholethe second and third sections seem oddly irrelevant to each othermany of the ideas are not expanded fully due to the books slim size.

Interesting study of the nature of cowardice and the strength it can bring, imaginative and quite original future landscape, short and quickly paced. Inclusion of outdated science fiction motifsvillain’s motivations do not seem convincingoptimists may not like the lack of a happy ending which is typical for Stableford.

New Robert Rankin! Not the best book ever

Wont read anything like these fight scenes they all live happily ever after, well some do!

Great New Characters, Fast Pace None

Thousands of years of history is a small volume! Difficult prose at times, lacks the genius of JRR to flesh out the stories
