Advantages: rich background, strong characters, intense

Disadvantages: best to read from the first to fill in the ongoing storyline line and the background

After Honor Harrington's experience with the Q-ships and their success rate, she heads back to Grayson and her steading. She is not only accomplied by Nimitz, Samantha (his mate), and the kittens, but as well by other Treecats "emigrating" to Grayson. Upon arrival, Farragut "bonds" with Miranda (Honor's maid), the first Grayson-Treecat bond.

Honor and Admiral White Haven discuss the changes in the Manticore Navy. In the midst of the discussion, the Admiral realizes how beautiful Honor is. Honor "feels" these emotions through Nimitz, causing confusion, as everyone knew of the tragedy behind his marriage, his lovely famous wife, seriously injured, yet staying devoted to her. Honor retreats back into space to distance herself.

Meanwhile, the war between Manticore and the Peeps escalate, with the Peeps military improving, lessoning the odds between them. A new power runs Haven now, one more powerful then the last.

Honor's division is detached to shepard a convoy of supply ships to another planet system. Unaware that the system has suffered a great loss and fallen to the peeps, proceeds. The ship that heads to Clairmont Station to warn that the system has fallen, arrives too late to warn Honor's Convoy.

Honor is aboard Prince Adrian for the ride, when the convoy arrives in system. Prince Adrian recieves no response to the message, worrying people on board. The ship is attacked by bogeys, which in turn are identified as Peep ships. A message is sent back to the rest of the convoy to translate back into space while Prince Adrian runs to draw off the Peeps.

The ship is captured, and Honor and the rest of the crew are captured by Peeps. Honor and the rest of the senior staff are stiped off and sent to Tepes, Cordellia Ransom's ship when she finds out who was captured. Because Honor was "sentenced" to death before the war, Ransom pronounces that the Denab
Accords do not apply and Honor and her crew are transported aboard the ship to Camp Charon to be executed.

Harkness "sides" with the enemy, but he has a plan. Programing the computer and the systems, Harkness leads a "jail break" rescuing Honor and the others. While a pinance explodes aboard Tepes (courtesy Harkness's little program), Honor and the rest escaped aboard two of Tepes armed assualt shuttles, landing on Hell itself.

The story is continuted in Echoes of Honor.

David Weber's writing style brings Honor and the rest of his characters to life. The depth of the plot lines are excellently written. My recommendation is to start with the first book in this series about Honor Harrington. The title is On Basilisk Station, there are 9 books involving Honor with a tenth forthcoming.

Honor's character is strong, filled with determination, will not back down from a fight, no matter the odds. She is a force to be reckon with.

I enjoy reading his books. His style, such depth to the writing in how he draws you in. I'm just a good ole gal but to me, I enjoy reading about Honor Harrington. There is such strength in her, plus I enjoy reading about Nimitz. I would think it would be cool if sometime if our history, we could develop ways to bond, be in "touch" with our pets. Honor's character touches a spot in me, to see such strength in a female character.
