Advantages: Great for fans of the show

Disadvantages: None

Anyone with children will not have been able to ignore the ever popular TV show called In the Night Garden. As with all children's shows the merchandise has been sold in huge amounts, my boys have also wanted all of it. The TV show has produced some very nice books. This one is called Upsy Daisy, Ooh, Pretty Flowers.

The book is a hard covered book and has a picture of Upsy Daisy on it standing in front of a pile of flowers, there is a pink shape in the top right hand corner with the title in purple lettering. The back cover of the book is blue and shows the scene of Igglepiggle in his boat on the ocean which can been seen at the beginning and end of the TV show.

The book starts with Igglepiggle and Upsy Daisy looking at the flowers in the garden, they say hello to each other. As they are looking at the flowers the Ninky Nonk comes along. Igglepiggle wants to ride on it but Upsy Daisy wants to look at the flowers. Igglepiggle gets on the Ninky Nonk but what is Upsy Daisy doing?

Upsy Daisy is still looking for flowers but cant see any, the Ninky Nonk comes along again and Igglepiggle asks her to go for a ride with him. They both get on the Ninky Nonk for a very bumpy ride. Where will the Ninky Nonk take them and will Upsy Daisy get to see any more pretty flowers?

This is a wonderful book which accompanies the TV series. The book is nice and bright and on the pages the writing is on coloured pages and it is nice and clear and a very good size so beginner readers will be able to read this with ease. The illustrations are all inside circle frames and they are actual photographs of the characters from the show so children will recognise them with ease.

The book is a very short one and can be read in a matter of minutes, I do find that once I get to the end my boys just want me to start reading it again.

The pages in the book are very thick and are perfect for younger children as they will be able to hold and turn each page with ease and I have found that they are also good as my 14 month old is unable to rip them!

The retail price for this book is £3.99 which I feel is reasonable but do shop around as they are sometimes sold slightly cheaper in Tesco. The book has been based on the stories, songs and rhymes from the TV show which was composed by Andrew Davenport. The book was published in 2007 by Penguin Books Limited.

A Highly recommended book for fans of the show.

Summary: Great book to follow the TV show
