Written between 1935 and 1945 when She was approximately 80-90 years old, these books tell the life story of Laura Ingalls Wilder who was the child of a pioneering family in America in the 1850's and 60's. The series of books take us on a vivid journey as she travels with her mother, father, and three sisters through the wilderness of America then, settling for a while in various places before moving on when areas began to get crowded, or being moved on by the government because they were settled in Indian territory! The writing is simple, telling us of everyday life and how they coped through long winters far from anywhere. Talking of hunting, ...
