Newest Review: ... from my own, I cried with Laura when after an illness that the whole family suffered from, her older sister Mary woke up blind, I laughed and cried for joy with her when her father came home safe after being out between home and town in a snow storm for several days. I have continued to read and re-read these books again and again as an adult, as they still amaze me, and I am still held capture by the strong images Laura paints with her words. Written between 1935 and 1945 when She was approximately 80-90 years old, these books tell the life story of Laura Ingalls Wilder who was the child of a pioneering family in America in the 1850's and 60's. The series of books take us on a vivid journey as she travels with her mother, father, and three sisters through the wilderness of America then, settling for a while in various places before moving on when areas began to get crowded, or being moved on by the government because they were settled in Indian territory!
