Advantages: brilliantly written, graphic

Disadvantages: can't put the book down

This is my favourite Stephen King book, it's not a horror or even a thriller but it captivated me so much that I could hardly put it down. The story is centred around the main character Ralph who, over a period of time, finds it more and more difficult to sleep. The reason for his insomnia is what makes the book so enthralling.

Stephen King has a knack of being able to get into your mind with his books and this novel does that more than any other. By the time you've finished you almost believe that the whole story could be true.

When Stephen King gives a book the title of insomnia it conjures up images of being afraid to sleep because of some awful horror. For me insomnia meant not being able to sleep because I spent most of the night reading it!

I've read this book five times now and know it inside out, but it still makes me think about life and death in a different way when I've finished.

I couldn't agree more, I have read this book so many times I have lost count. I too thought it an interesting and unusual story by SK and couldn't put it down.
