A superb story of a young girls struggle with moving from place to place all through her life.
It starts in a Naval base where her father is due to become an admiral in the Navy. He test flies planes for the naval training acadamy and it all really starts when Grace waves her father off one day from the Naval Yard where he is to go on another training exercise. Little do they know he will not return.
Her life upended she and her mother move house once more. Mum gets work with an old school friend she once knew very well and works for a while in a diner. There she meets hubbie number two. Grace and her move in with rather wealthy father number two and live quite happily for a while. Then another tragedy and woah and behold they have to move again. No I won't tell you it is quite a big part of the story so you will have to read this harrowing and heartfelt story for yourselves. All I will say is remove sharp objects from easy reach and get a good supply of tissues and chocolate in you will need them.
This book was very deep and involved in places and you really felt deeply sorry in places for young grace who for some reason did not make friends easily and those she did make well .... again find out for yourselves.
Had a hard time putting this one down and found it a good read when I was ill in bed with a viral complaint. So find an excuse to sit somewhere quiet and have a good old fashioned bawl.
Great storyline and well written this is a must have book.
