Although mostly chronological, Wogan’s talent for leaping between subjects (with all the agility of a mountain goat) gives a feeling of friendliness and warmth to the words, as if he’s sitting there talking to you face to face. I like it. You want to know the story? Okay - without giving the plot away I’ll give you a brief history . . . ...more

Charming and funny. English literature teachers might try to ram it down your throat and force you to write interminable essays on it. Ignore them for they are disciples of satan.

Well-written, sympathetic, and with some good pictures. Some of the anecdotes he records are cruel.

Interesting and sometimes surprising insights. A limited and biased point-of-view.

describes the ins and outs of the music industry, very personal insight some parts are quite emotional

Very very interesting Lack of detail on how Virgin was built up

Wonderfully written, full of Dahl's delightful storytelling ability All too swiftly read
