I entered the ballroom of the five-star Jakarta hotel where the Saudi Embassy was celebrating the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed. There was Tommy Suharto surrounded by his bodyguards. There was Megawati, standing alone. There was me, being stared at. I had wandered onto that side of the room reserved for the women.
