Advantages: a good read and some amusing stories

Disadvantages: ---

Most people know who David Coulthard is....Yes he is the formula one driver with the defined jaw.

At the time of writing this David Coulthard has amassed some incredible statistics:
He has started in 242 Grand Prix,
has had 12 pole positions,
13 Grand Prix wins
and stood on 62 podiums
with a grand total of 533 formula one world championship points.

David Coulthard is one of the most experienced formula one drivers on the grid and even though he has announced that he is to retire at the end of the season he continues to rack up the points finishes. 'It is what it is' documents David's life from the beginning to the present day. With memories and stories from his childhood through Karting, Formula ford, formula 3 up to lemans until David received his big break in formula one. As many formula one fans will know David was the driver who took over after the tragic death of Ayrton Senna at Imola in 1994 and since then David Coulthard has been a larger than life character on the formula one grid.

The book I own is the hardback version which has around 328 pages with plenty of pictures to support the stories.

*+* MY OPINIONS *+*

I really enjoyed this book it has everything you need to know in it about David Coulthard's life. For a fan of formula one or just someone who is interested in DC himself this would be a great read. The book does reveal the battle that David had with Bulimia when he was younger. This is something very few knew about until the release f the book. There are some great memories to one in particular that made me laugh was a boat trip with fellow British formula one driver Jenson Button and David's insistence to give the waiting photographers more of a flash than any one of them had on their camera's, and Jenson's battle to stop him.
Overall this is a good read and well worth giving it a shot. Although this was a gift I would have bought the book anyway. It was one of those books that I couldn't put down but its not for anyone without a slight interest in motorsport.

Summary: For motorsport or david coulthard fans its a must
