***Background*** Pat Thomson has written a number of children's books although to be fair she is probably better known for writing books for slightly older children rather than picture books like this one. Jonathan Allen provides us with illustrations and this book is ideal for him as he specialises in writing and drawing books full of animals. ***The Story*** The story starts with a cat being chased out of the farmhouse. "BANG went the door and SWISH went the broom. The farmyard animals heard Mrs Prout say, 'OUT, CAT, OUT!' 'Meeow,' said Cat, 'that's so unfair.'" The hens ask her what happened ... 'It's So Unfair' is in my opinion a really great picture story book for young children. I'm sure that most children will really love it mainly because it's very funny in a way that appeals to young children. The book is written by Pat Thomson and illustrated by Jonathan Allen. It focuses on the events that happen on a farm one day when a mischievous looking cat is apparently rather unfairly treated by the farmer's wife! It all starts with the cat being thrown out of the house in a very unceremonious way by a very cross Mrs Prout who is heard to say 'OUT, CAT, OUT!'. The cat meeows and claims that it 'is so unfair'.
