This book is set in London, in the 1800s. Hetty Feather is a foundling baby, who is destined to live her life as a servant. Hetty has other ideas! Hetty is just a tiny baby when she is brought to the hospital by her mother. She is then, as well as all other foundlings, given to a foster home in the country, to be looked after by her foster parents, John and Peg. The young girl gets up to lots of adventures at her foster home even though they are poor, and her foster brother Jem even takes her to the circus, where she sees Madame Adeline, who she believes is her real mother. Rose, Buried Alive! and Lizzie Zipmouth. I have not really read any of these books as they are a bit young even for me. Most of Jacqueline Wilson's books are aimed at ages 8-12 year olds although many adults enjoy them too. Tracey Beaker fits into this group, as do other popular books such as The Lottie Project and The Suitcase Kid. A few of the books are aimed at an older readership, that is age 12 and upwards. This includes the "girls" (Girls in love, Girls out late, and Girls under pressure) trilogy, Dustbin Baby (which I have written an op on) and Secrets. and it was excellent! Becasue, it seemed as though she had put more time and effort into this book than the others, which made it better. Jacqueline Wilson, is one of the best authors I know!! I have read all of her books, and find them very exciting. Because they are filled with suspense and anticipation. When I get to the end of a chapter on some of her books, I can't wait to start the next. I just keep reading and reading until I get to the end of the book, then I back up to my local library to get another one, and repeat the same course with that book. Whenever I read her books, and am overcome by something inside me that won't let me come out of my book ...
