Not since i was a child have i ever read a childrens book. Redwall written by brain jacques is simply anmzing. Let me explain what it is about. In a wood called mossflower, a small abbey resides called redwall. But theres one small problem about these woods and abbey, they are run by animals. All the animals talk and do things that humans do. The abbey is formely owned by mice but they let other creatuers inas well, like otters and moles and badgers. Of course like any world their existance is always threatened. But normaly they are attacked by cats, rats and foxes. In the abbey, everything goes on as normal. The abbey is run by an abbot, and there is evrything we would expect, a kitchen, wine cellar, armoury, grounds, bedrooms, and inhabitants. In every book, there are completlwey new characters that dwell in the abbey. Some of the books are about old tales told about redwall told by creatures travelling which have been given shelter for the night. In the abbey, all the creatures are nice to each other, they can all talk, and the way trhat brian writes the speech simply brings a smile to my face every time. There are all sorts of creatures in the abbey. For instance the mice run the place, the little juniors are so funny, the moles are portrait and thich cratures which just dig. In the abbey, they have a fabled woorior called martain the worrior. Martain liberated all creauters from a tyrant and helped to build redwall, he has a special sword which a young mouse goes looking for in the book just called redwall. NMartain is supposed to be the guiding spirit in the abbey. there is ahuge tappestry of him in the main hall. As I said in evry book they come accross some sortof danger. Normally its a horrible hord of rats coming there way. And they have to fight them off. This invloves the mauin character in the book finding martains sword, and fightring them off. A huge war is waged and normally red wall wins. These books are
amazing, a completely different world is writen about, a fntasy world which you will take evry pleasre in reading about. I have never read so compulsivley in all my life. Brain writes superbly. Everything is roight, he describes absolutley evrything down to the last detail. Brian j. has created a tale that can be told again and again and again. He has created a community where it gets to the point to be beliveable. TRhese books are great. Read them if you have the chance.
