She captured the nation when she first entered the Big Brother house back in 2002, and she captured the nations hearts in 2008 when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer.
I have never been a big fan of Jade Goody to be honest, I think it is just a women thing that we watch reality tv, and that is how she became so successful through her numerous reality tv shows that have shown how she has progressed since leaving the Bog Brother house in 3rd place in 2002, however there was only one real winner that year and that was Jade, the biggest name ever in reality tv.
I purchased this book because I curious about the in's and out's of Jades whole life. There has always been publicity that she has had a bad life from start to finish and this book tells all, of how she used Big Brother as a scape goat to get out of the life that she hated so much and how she managed to build on her success.
Jade tell's her tale in her own manner, her unique way of how she manages to get things across which in some cases people think she is just thick, however deep down she has proved very clever and how she comes across is really quite humorous.
From a very young age Jade suffered mental abuse from her family, especially her father that had a drug addiction and on many occasion spent his time jacking up in front of her at a very young age, or in and out of prison. Jade disowned her father, who has since passed away and never got the opportunity to live with a daughter that had become so successful.
Following a horrific crash, Jade's mother found herself paralysed in one arm, normally having a mother looking after a daughter, Jade found herself looking after her mother, cooking, ironing and doing household chores and she barely out of nappies herself. It details how much she resented her mother but also how they have managed to grow closer over the years and eventually have a healthy mother / daughter relationship.
When she came out of the Big Brother house in 2002, everyone had there own perception of her, purely because of her loud mouth exterior and the antics that she got up to in the house were far worse than any others that we have seen in previous and following years but these antics made her a star and she didn't realise what to expect when she left the house, her life had only just began and it was all down to trying to get away from her current life for a break.
Jade's love life has been extremely turbulent and having thought she had found love with her children Bobby and Freddy father, this didn't seem to be, however it wasn't long before she fell into the arms of Jack Tweed, a young lad that doesn't seem to have grown up and we may think that they had a happy relationship however Jack has hurt Jade on numerous occasions and its only down to her diagnosis that they eventually got back together.
Over the years we have seen the many realty TV programs that she has been in including Jade's PA, Jade's Salon and how she managed to create a perfume that outsold the bestsellers. Jade discusses her passions for the ventures that she has been involved in and how she likes to take an active role rather than sitting on the side line and letting others do the hard work.
She talks of how Celebrity Big Brother turned into her worst nightmare and how in the heat of an argument she said something that damaged and nearly ended her career that she had worked for. It was in Celebrity Big Brother in India that she was told of her diagnosis, live and how she had to deal with in being thousands of miles away from home and having no one to comfort her in the hour of need.
Jade was a good mother and she cared so much for her two boys that will miss her more than anything. The book describes in depth how they are her world and that everything she does in her career is for the sake of her children. She is a sincere and very caring person, that to be honest should have more good words said about her than she gets.
She was a fighter until the end and she really thought that she would beat the cancer, however due it being to far into, there was very little chance that she had to live. She tells of her medications that she takes, how it makes her feel and how sometimes she just wanted it all to end.
Jade's happiest moments came at the end of her life, her marriage to Jack Tweed that was aired on TV and the christening of her and her two sons, things that she wanted to do before she passed away.
At a very young age this is really sad that she devloped cervical cancer as her life really had only just began and she had so much more to give. The book itself is written in Jade's style and as you read it you find youself with Jade's voice in your head, as if she is telling you the story. Its a great read and I would recommend anyone that has the slight interest in her life story to order it as once you start reading you will find that you can't put it down.
Now available at play.com for just £3.99 with proceed going to her son's. Worth a read, just for her childrens sake.
