been better to get rid of the smell, but this review is about a book, so bear with me please!) Anyway, the first author featured was Terry Brooks. Now, I had at this point only vaguely heard of this guy and had never read any of is books, but from all the quotes on his books he seemed to be the top fantasy writer on the display, with his 'Shannara' series of books (I'd never heard of it!) reputed to be some of the best Fantasy work of modern times, with the first of this series "The Sword of Shannara" being the first ever work of fiction to appear on The New York ...

I read this book about a month or so ago and I thought that after such a long time since I read the last of the Shannara books that it would be difficult to get back in to the story line. I was wrong. Brooks gives you suspense right from the beggining and now I am dying for the next book to come out. In the very beggining a stranger is found on the beach and brought to a healer. This stranger turns out to be someone everyone thought was dead or at least never to be seen again. The plot thickens when he is visited by the mysterious Isle Witch. Who at this point we have no idea who she really is. She keeps her identity a secret of course but we will speculate as to who she might ...
