Everyone should read Betjeman. He writes in a style which is descriptive but not flowery, poetic and yet direct. He writes about the things he loves and the things that annoy him, and he does both equally well. This book is almost his complete works and contains all his best known poems "Myfanwy", "Christmas", "Slough", "Hymn", "The Arrest of Oscar Wilde...." plus many that are less well known. Above all he writes about his beloved England, from Norfolk to Devon via Oxford. If you've never read Betjeman - try him.
