Being a huge fan of Dr. Who, I was thrilled to see a Jon Pertwee biography being released last year, although somewhat bemused. Whereas there is definitely a space in the market for a biography about Patrick Troughton, for example, a book on Jon Pertwee seemed superfluous, as he wrote two autobiographies during his lifetime – ‘Moon Boots And Dinner Suits’ (detailing his early life and career) and the later, excellent, large format book ‘I Am The Doctor’. I was especially surprised to find that the author, Bernard Bale, was known to me, being a friend of my Dad’s. I would therefore love to be able to write a gushing, ...  Read the complete review
