The Tooth Fairy - Graham Joyce

Premium Review Dark, disturbing rite of passage (495 words)

memories along with the terror of the unknown, the memory of curling under the duvet, heart pounding, fingers clenched and skin clammy with cold sweat. Graham Joyce invites you to take that unpleasant trip back. He doesn't just invite but entices you with words. Words of poetic grace, of compelling charm that makes you turn the pages rapidly. And by the time you realise it is a trap, it is too late. you're hooked. You meet Sam, a boy like any other boy, roaming about in wild abandon in the outskirts of his car-factory town. Cocky, self assured and itching for a fight. And then one night Sam wakes up to find the tooth fairy sitting on the edge of his ...
