Advantages: Good story

Disadvantages: Bit dull and mundane

Well, don't expect anything like the Disney film!! Although The Jungle Book was quite lively and Kipling had created brilliant characterisations of the animals, the language he used to describe events in the jungle with Mowgli, Baloo and the rest of the characters that we have grown to love from the film, appear quite dull and lifeless.

I was read The Jungle Book as a child and it probably wasn't as magical as it should have been. Reading it later as an adult, I can see that it lacks life and is quite mundane, mainly because of the flamboyant language.

I'm afraid that Disney made it come more alive for me!!
