Being a Cathy Kelly fan I was really looking foward to her new book Once in a Lifetime. I was going to buy the book but it is quite a hefty hardback (the paperback not being out until September this year) so in the end I ordered the talking book (CD) from my local library. to reach and without that, the story sort of tended to amble on and on, often dipping into the past of certain characters to reveal some new storylines but even they weren t enough to renew my interest. At this point in time, I have all the Cathy Kelly books to date. This has definitely been one of my favourites. The story enfolds with 3 women all packing and p[reparing for their upcoming holiday to Egypt. However, they only meet and team up together when they actually arrive. Hannah and Leonie bnecause they are both travelling alone, and Emma, because she needs to be seperated from her insufferable father. After the holiday, the 3 women remain friends, and have regular reunions, keeping up with love, life and gossip.
